Welcome To Sacred
The name ‘Sacred’ is reflective of the nature of the trust (amanah) God has given us in the form of our bodies and minds, and the spaces we occupy with them. At the heart of our work is protecting these trusts from violation and creating meaningful, survivor-centred pathways to healing.
Our fast-paced, global, and interconnected world allows us to benefit and learn from the array of movements for justice and liberation across the world that are doing just that. However, it is the work and commitment that we put into our local communities that make the most tangible difference.
We are rooted in the belief that change should be community-led and grounded in a rigorous, spiritually conscious research ethos. That is why we focus on building collaborative relationships - with individuals, organisations, scholars, and survivors to develop knowledge that informs every aspect of our work. Our goal is to contribute to meaningful change for Muslim survivors of abuse in Scotland (and beyond), through research that uplifts, protects, and restores.
We believe that how we work is just as important as what we do. We are committed to building a model of leadership that is collaborative, accountable, spiritually grounded, and always in service to the communities we work with.
We do not see ourselves as separate from the communities we support; rather, we are part of the same collective story of resistance, healing, and change.

Confidentiality
Your trust in us is an Amanah (responsibility), we see it as a serious responsibility and our confidentiality policy reflects that. We are confidential and solution-focused.
Support Us
We would be so grateful for any amount you could afford, your generosity can do so much to help Sacred and the people we hope to support. Fundraisers and individual donations can make a considerable difference to our work, and help sustain vital services that will raise awareness of the impact of Muslim mental health and how we can help.
