Qawwamoon: Protectors & Maintainers

We would like to invite you to join us in a discussion to raise awareness of the divinely prescribed role males have been ascribed as protectors and maintainers of women and to highlight the devastating impact the abuse by those in positions of responsibility has on women, communities and Muslim community spaces.

This event is a collaboration between Al-Meezan and Sacred body:mind:space and is funded by the National Waqf Foundation.

Keynote Speaker - Dr. Rahmanara Chowdhury
Senior Lecturer in Forensic Psychology at Nottingham Trent University. She is a Chartered Psychologist, and Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and has published several books on domestic abuse in Muslim communities.
